The organization finally confirmed that Brent Lewis will not be leading any future tours. Knowing that no other students will have to face what we endured brings me a peace I have waited a long time to feel.

During the AMA Silver Tour 2016, Director Brent Lewis bullied, abused, and harassed the students on tour, resulting in students fearing for their safety and parents fearing for their children. In spite of numerous complaints, AMA has elected to allow Mr. Lewis to lead the 2017 tour as well. Please sign to let AMA know that this man is not fit to supervise our children and demand his immediate dismissal.

I have been reading the heartbreaking accounts left in the comments by those who were on the tour. It is clear that the fear felt by these students is far too widespread to be ignored by anyone in leadership.

Seeing this grow so quickly reminds me that I am not alone in my fear for the kids who are still under his supervision. It feels like the tide is finally turning toward holding the leadership accountable for what happened on that tour.

As an educator and mother, I say with utmost certainty that this man should not be allowed on a trip of this sort again. The fear and anxiety the children would have to endure would make what should be an enjoyable and exciting experience, a wholly different one. This is not a battle your company will win.

I went on the 2015 tour and saw similar behavior. It is sad that this still continues. It needs to stop.

I believe there is a law in PA that adults that supervise children must have a background check. Did the AMA run an appropriate background check on this individual?

I am sorry this happened to your daughter and other girls with this adult and I hope that there is more vetting for employees of the AMA in the future. Our daughters will not be attending if they do not take action to protect female students on these tours and better investigate and hire their staff that work directly with our children.

He also frequently got drunk on the trip, which considering he is responsible for over 30 teenagers is unacceptable.

I was there when he was in our changing room. He was in the back and waited to say he was there until after we were nearly finished changing. After he made himself known, we started yelling at him to get out. He laughed at us and tried to tell us it was fine and finally left. Also, after our first concert he tried to make a joke to me in front of everyone but essentially said to me "wow you weren't awful this time." I don't remember his exact words but he made fun of me in front of everyone.

He's creepy, and incredibly inappropriate.

This man should be removed from the tour and never hired again! His behavior is not okay, and these young girls deserve better. Subjecting them to this abuse is not ok. Protect these kids!
