Person-centred care is a right of survivors of crime Rape survivors that request single-sex health care and support should be given it Beyond this, nobody should be wishing anyone to fall in a well or ask people to spit on other people, least of all a Board Member of a Women's Trust publicly calling for these violent events and acts to occur to a rape survivor No-one who shows this level of misconduct, lack of judgement and lack of compassion especially for women and women rape-survivors should be holding a position of leadership in any organisation and especially one that claims to advocate for women to be treated with respect and dignity and to be safe from harm in society. Leena van Deventer must be removed from any positions of leadership or representation in the Victorian Women's Trust or cause further degradation of the reputation and cause of the VWT, Her continued Board Membership is an affront to women.

Misogyny like this must not hold any position of power.

Leena Van Deventer is an abusive disgrace. She creates an unsafe environment for women. She owes an apology and an explanation. She should not serve on any board concerned with the welfare of women.

I believe this woman has had inadequate training in speaking to and supporting female victims. Her language is violent & blamey. If she went through any interview process it failed. She is not suitable for this sensitive role.

Women deserve sex appropriate care. Not sure why this is so difficult to grasp considering men, regardless of how they identify, are responsible for 99% of sex crimes globally.

There is no justification for this woman's behaviour.

I was stunned to see these vicious comments directed towards a vulnerable woman seeking support, but the fact that this violent misogyny came from someone representing a feminist organisation claiming to support women to thrive is sickening.

I am disgusted at the lack of compassion shown by this individual and I think she is unfit to sit on a body representing women.

This is unforgivable. The woman did not ask for anybody to be excluded, she simply asked for a specific single sex space for women who are survivors of DV, rape etc. That Leena felt comfortable making these disgusting comments publicly shows she has no understanding or empathy for women and certainly feels safe spouting abuse towards any who do not agree with her beliefs. She must be removed immediately.

What sort of message are we sending if this woman is allowed to remain.

A woman advocating for other women to be spat at? What’s next? She’s gonna applaud when one of us are killed? She’s a misogynist. She needs to be kept far, far away from women.

VWT betrayed its founders and all women by accepting men who 'identify as women' in their ranks. The Trust is a disgrace.

Disgraceful comments and an attitude that is absolutely incompatible with the stated aims and values of the VWT. No amount of apologising can make this OK.

No-one who can make such comments about a rape victim is fit to be associated with the Vic. WOMEN'S Trust

That someone thinks this way, let alone is brazen enough to articulate such repugnant vitriol towards women who have suffered the most traumatising experiences, beggars belief. To be so brazen in her hatred demonstrates this person needs to be removed from contact with & decision making regarding victims of such sickening crimes. This person is so obviously not suited to such a role.

Deplorable comments. Encouraging abuse towards a female rape survivor or any survivor unforgivable.
