REMOVE KAREN HAYES FROM TVUSD

It's about time

Karen Hayes will lie, cheat, and steal to get whatever or destroy whomever she wants. She is unethical and unprofessional. TVUSD it is time to do the right thing and remove Karen Hayes from her reign of terror at MMS. She is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the district.

Karen Hayes rules with an iron fist. She attacks anyone who questions her. Karen's teachers live in fear of her wrath and vengeance.

I know several teachers that have worked for Karen Hayes and I must say from what they have told me I confidence I would never want my worst enemy to have to work for someone like Karen. She has engaged in illegal hiring, misappropriation of funds, intimidation, and is all around an unjust person. There is a reason why the district who never fires principals has finally said Enough! The public has no clue because she is good at putting on a fake persona but trust me she is horrible.

Karen Hayes has 2 faces. The face she shows parents and students is different from the one she shows the teachers and staff. She has demonstrated a pattern of inappropriate behavior each of her 13 years at MMS and this will not stop. I watch each year as 5 to 10 teachers are broken down by Karen and made to transfer, go on leave or quit. She makes blind accusations from anomymous staff members in order to divide the staff. She may seem friendly and supportive to parents and students, but that is her guise. Before you support her get the full story.

Enough is enough! Too many colleagues have been effected negatively. Karen Hayes has left a path of distruction over the many years in this district that have damaged teacher confidence, security, and support from adminstration. Our disrict does what is best for kids. Now we need to be sure to do what is best for teachers; current, past, and present.

She has acted as a tyrant in her tenure.

I agree Karen Hayes has ruled basically as a bully and negatively affected the lives of many teachers and staff members. As many of her talented teachers have fled to other schools in the district the test scores that she used to brag about at her school have plummeted. She has come in third and fourth for several years now. She needs to be terminated and if she has been terminated then congratulations to all those who will never have to be bullied, harassed, and fearful of her unfair labor practices.

I had a horrible expeience as a parent dealing with karen hayes. She did not support our ELL community and did not even try to hide it. Time for her to go.

I would like to share some facts for everyone. Karen Hayes was notified in person on March 11 that at the end of the school year she would no longer be an administrator. She was also told that the District is offering her a teaching position at the highest teaching salary. Many teachers never get that high on the salary scale, but it would be a dollar amount of $96,690 plus full benefits. Karen was upset and she decided to leave and go home that day and never return to work. She had her husband come to school later that evening and clear out all of her personal belongings out of her office. She has abandoned her job. She is supposed to be at MMS working until the end of this school year, which for an administrator ends on June 26, 2015. If she accepts the teaching position it would begin on August 7, 2015 just as it does for all teachers in the district. Those are the facts. Now, my personal opinion is that she left and went home in order to start a huge protest by building support from all those who have benefited in one way or another. what people need to understand is that even if she is a great person to parents and a select group of teachers, that does not mean that she is above the law, above school ed code, or California labor laws. Even those who may be adored by many can be guilty of enough things that can terminate their employment. One has nothing to do with the other. You may like Karen but that does not mean that what the district did was wrong. It means that you are disappointed and maybe that disappointment should be directed at Karen.

Hi Anonymous citizen Random name........ Let's look at the facts then, and the evidence that supports that the public who is supporting Karen is definitely in the dark. There is over ten years worth of employees that filed complaints, went out on stress leave, and transferred out of MMS due to the constant harassment and bullying from Karen. These matters are between each employee, the district, and the union. So the public on the whole would not be allowed to see them unless each individual granted them the right to their personal file. Now besides Karen's tactics, there are also matters of misappropriation of funds. Last year the ACLU had to step in and filed and won a lawsuit against TVUSD based primarily how funds were being misappropriated and miscalculated. MMS was the major violator in this case. The lawsuit did that what one, did not ask for monetary compensation, rather it asked for the money to be properly used in accordance with the law in the future. Once again, Karen refused to obey this law and decided as she has done year after year to use the money incorrectly even after being warned by her bosses. Next their is the issue of retaliation by Karen and specific teachers on her behalf loyal to her based on the perks they have received for many years. Karen and some of them have often bullied, slandered, and created hostile work environments for employees that have a difference of opinion on various ideas. I know for a "citizen" if that is truly who you are it is difficult to understand if you have not lived it but Karen is not who the public thinks she is. I am not saying to "trust government" I am saying that in this case the facts against her are protected by law and as much as we wish we could release everything and I am sure the district would love to as well, they can't because then Karen could sue based on breach of confidentially. How is it you know all these very "specific" details in regards to ️how and when and why Karen was reassigned, as you are choosing to call this situation? I thought the district was not able to legally discuss this? the board meeting however was very interesting tonight, Ritter getting his felon daughter hired. If we are putting people on the chopping block and Karen Hayes is the devil you say she is, why are the men/bullies who have many written and verbal grievances against them from staff and students, and the district who has millions of dollars unaccounted for not being held to the same standard as Karen Hayes?

First off I would like to start by saying, I am the real Amy Frederick and I support Karen Hayes 120%!!! So for whoever you are that used my name and made comments under it against Karen Hayes shame on you! I don’t know how you live with yourself or how you sleep at night! Do You know that it’s illegal to use other people’s names? Do You know that you can be tracked? I have reported you and can't wait until they trace the comment that was used in my name to you, and trashing it won't take it off your hard drive! I hope the District Attorney comes after you!!! Now, that I got that out of the way I would also like to point out some “True Facts” from Karen Hayes herself, not the made up “Facts” that are being posted here with fake or forged/hacked names! So here we go… "I was asked by Joe Mueller (Director of HRD) on 3/11/15 at the 'you're being terminated' meeting if I had any personal belongings at MMS. I said "yes." He said 'when do you want to pick up your items?' and I said well it depends on if there's a chance I'll be going back to MMS? He and Ritter both stated that I definitely will not be going back to MMS so I should get my personal belongings. I said, alright then let's get them tonight. Mueller asked me what time everyone would be out of the office, and I said around 5:30, so he said he'd meet me there. I showed up with my husband and boxes and we cleaned out my personal belongings. Joe Mueller said I could leave some things behind and I asked why I would do that if I'm never coming back to MMS and he said I could come back another night. It made absolutely no sense to me why I would come back a second time, so I simply took all of my stuff out on 3/11 with Joe Mueller standing watch over me and my husband as we packed up." I am NOT ALLOWED to return to MMS according to the District. So our opponents' view that I have chosen not to return is incorrect. Attached is a document that states I am not to return to MMS

I love that you put this out there! There is also a letter posted on the SAVEhAYES facebook page from Karen's attorney to the distrct that is available to see, if any of her critics are willing to actually see the truth. The letter shows that she was terminated pending board approval, and if any of you critics were at the board meeting when that happened you would know that the board approved her termination.
