Remove Irish Cancer society Advert - "I want to get Cancer"

This is a disgrace. No words

This ad campaign is a disgrace and completely inappropriate and insensitive towards the people and families that have suffered from the pain of cancer

So insensitive, insulting and heartbreaking for anyone affected my cancer.

I 'get' what this ad is trying to say. But it's crass, insensitive and ignorant. Hey ICS, you want to 'get' my cancer with insatiable itching that prevents any restful sleep? Or maybe you'd just like to 'get' the cough that is so strong it leaves me incontinent? Or how about the difficulty breathing? No? Maybe just the whole uncertainty about whether I should be planning to live or to die. Maybe, as a charity that focuses on this disease, you could 'get' that there is not a family in this country that is not shocked or traumatised by cancer. Did you really think this approach would raise donations? Shame!

As a two time cancer survivor I spend everyday wondering if today going to be the day I relapse again. So no I don't want to get cancer cos if I did docs have told me it would be virtually impossible to treat a third time.

Please remove and have respect for those that are suffering / have suffered this awful disease. No need to use those two words there are plenty more to grab people's attention and get them talking !

Was initially shocked when I heard the ad. I want cancer initially came across to me as being the person wanted to get cancer. I understand it now of course. It means we want to beat cancer. Not well thought of. I lost my dad to cancer four months ago and can honestly say it stopped me in my tracks...

Can be totally misinterpreted! Better ways to go about advertising! Totally tasteless.

Listen to those. Who have been effected, and respect their wishes.

I've already put a post on your FB page. Disgusting ad and totally insensitive to all of us who have lost our loved ones to this awful disease. Stop this ad. NOW. I'll also add PLEASE!

This is a dreadful ad, my Sister has Cancer at this time and gets so upset if this ad appears on TV. For me it makes me cringe every time I see it. It's reverse psychology message is not coming through so please remove it as it is only causing more distress to a lot of people.

I lost my father and husband to cancer. I am very angry and bitter. This advert is frightening and hurtful.

Ridiculous advert no sensitivity at all for people with cancer

I understand the ad campaign however I feel it's very inappropriate and offensive to current cancer patients.

This ad is a complete waste of money that could have been used to ease the burden on families who have "got" cancer.
