Remove Irish Cancer society Advert - "I want to get Cancer"

Thoughtless and upsetting words, please remove add.

Who on earth thought this add wd be a good idea. It's hurtful and disturbing.

As someone who has had cancer i find the wording in this ad highly insensitive to anyone who has had or is living with cancer and their families. I doubt the person or people who came up with this wording has ever had cancer. I find the wording instills fear, and is telling us that cancer is a part of everyone's lives and future and that we should ACCEPT this!!?? When the message should be the opposite, instilling positivity in people that we can beat this and we can find a cure and it is not something we have to accept that 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. It is not a common cold and it is not a disease that we can play around with people's minds and start to accept in life. Is it only in Ireland that you say 1 in 2 of us will get cancer by 2020 or is it world wide and if not why not??!! I don't want my kids hearing this ad on TV and this wording going into their subconscious minds, into their belief systems. Believing that this is part of their future. I am very disappointed that the Irish Cancer Society actually came out to defend the wording they put together for this ad. How insensitive to feed this ad on TV into homes where people are devastated by the effects of this disease.

there can't be a family in this country who don't "get" cancer. this ad is insensitive, hurtful and distressing. please remove it . i am not stupid. i understand the play on the word "get", but instead of trying to be clever, have some respect for all those who have died of this disease and the countless others who are living with it.

I pick up what the message is but I think the way you're doing it is wrong and definitely y insensitive. Take it down please lots of people are being unnecessarily hurt by this campaign. ICS image is already in tatters over financial scandal and this is not helping.

I 'got' cancer.....I don't want to 'get' it ever again. Please don't insult the intelligence of people with an ad like this. Sometimes paying a company big bucks to think up a 'catchy' ad campaign works...this time it very clearly didn't. People are talking.....about an ad that should not have passed go....they are not talking about cancer itself or the facts around cancer. I find this advert offensive, hurtful & shocking. I would dread to think of a child, with cancer, ever seeing this advert & wondering why would anyone want to get cancer.

My family have been through this over and over. We don't need to "Get cancer". Cancer already got us.

No need for "shock tactics" spend funds on research and extra treatment for patients instead of hurtful advertising

I hate this ad i certainly do not want to get cancer i recently lost a sister to cancer and my other sister is a cancer survivor this ad is very hurtful and insensitive
