Happy to see she made the appropriate decision and resigned.

Ask the students how popular she was among them and that’ll tell you exactly how she treats African Americans. And even if she treated them generally well, when you’re the minority you really don’t have. Choice but to conform. Welcome to being a minority in good ole America. She got to see what it felt like to have to play by the rules of the African American students and likely had to respect them as she was literally in their neighborhood where their families who loved and cared for them very much would LIVE within close proximity to the parking lot she had to walk to and from at the same time everyday. She was very accessible had she decided to let the prejudice show and offend one of the parents or student to the point they were willing to retaliate in whatever way they saw fit. Tough being mean To someone when you’re in their territory and within reach of the person you’re attempting to abuse or mistreat and the people who love them and will likely go to extremes if they feel they need to in order to protect or defend them and allow them to be happy in their one very short childhood.
I suppose if you can drink Corona's during LSC meetings, get accused of driving drunk with the kids in the car by DCFS and be a subpar Spanish Language professor at a major college in the area then you have permission to smear an administrator because she is not a latina. I suppose that gives you permission to ruin someone's 23 years of hard work.

Hey Scrooge, IF YOU DID YOUR RESEARCH YOU WOULD KNOW THAT SHE DID HAVE ISSUES AT "THE OTHER SCHOOL". BUT AS ALWAYS, IT WAS SWEPT UNDER THE RUG.
Why would they let her go then?
Next time check the facts.!!

Dear Scrooge, it doesn't matter if she was an art teacher at an all African American school, anyone can be employed at any school, it's how you act and behave that is important. As you can see, it's the end result that mattered here, and if she was let go, there must have been findings that supported what the parents at the school were fighting for. No one is let go "just because". Next time, YOU DO your research.

If you did your research you will find out that she was an art teacher at an African American majority populated school.. There are no complaints about her then.

It's funny that none of you did your research. She was an Art Teacher at a majority African American school. Why don't you check your resources and see not one time has she been accused of being racist.

Trust has def been broken. CPS needs to build & grow trust by holding all responsible parties accountable for their reckless actions. This should not be allowed to happen anywhere, much less in a school setting. New leadership is needed in our school community NOW.

Iams has historically been about the students, teachers, parents and administration being like family, looking out for one another, doing whatever needed to enhance the experience of our children. It seems that trust has been broken.
