The players involved in the racist messages should of been removed from the team. Instead, they only received 1-2 day suspension from school, and no more then 3-4 game suspension. The Farmington community was greatly hurt, and disgusted by these messages, and a majority of people don't see their current punishment as fair. The messages said things including, "90% of black girls are obnoxious" "they're inferior" and "slavery wasn't racism." The messages between some of the baseball players took place during the baseball season, and in the baseball group chat, so there is no reason they shouldn't be removed from the team.
