The aspect of playing in the NBA season and earning millions of dollars makes you tired is not an excuse. Do you realize that you have people who are working well into their seventies and cant afford to retire? Is this what the Olympics has been lowered to? I thought the Olympics was to champion the human spirit and to have a prize only a few people have, to have a medal and be called an Olympic champion. Where are the Jessie Owen's, Wilma Rudolph's, Dan Jansen's of this generation? USA Olympic basketball is to show that the Americans can still play. To show the world that the United States have the fundamentals and can still beat China, Spain and that we are the best. We show this through spirit, hard work and the Olympic spirit. Sadly, this has been marred by millionaires who want more money even though they are GREATLY compensated through their contracts and endorsements. You do not have to be "Captain America" but you should at least show some common decency. You have people doing harder jobs and fighting for the right for people like Dwyane Waden and Ray Allen  to play basketball and they come back home with PSTD, wounded or body parts blown off. They get payed ALLOT less. I am talking about soldiers, government workers abroad, embassy staff, missionary workers, NGO's who do allot more for allot less! Is this a message we want to send to our kids, society and future athletes? Especially in the economic and political climate that were in today? How are Ray Allen  and Dwayne Wade a credible representative if he wants to receive compensation to represent the United States? Should he even be a representative? Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen  should be kicked off the team and should apologize about making such a statement. His statements do not hold to the integrity of why people want to compete in the Olympics . What is the point if you are too "tired" to play anyways? You'll magically regain strength if you are payed extra? If that is your motivation to play, then he should not play.
