As students, it is our priority to determine our success. However, often times our educational goals can become impeded by our professors. In this case, Dr. Hogan has non-stop tests/quizzes, makes us come into school on days off when some of us live 35 minutes away and cannot afford the gas money, and also is a very petty individual. She tells the class to stop talking when no one is talking, and if someone is talking during the lecture about the subject she teaches (General Biology 101), she says, "It is very chatty in here today," as she has her back turned to us. In addition to everything mentioned above, when we make a mistake on assignments called "Lab Reports," she tells us to fix a certain error. When we do fix the error by putting exactly what she says we should put, she once again tells us it is wrong. It is as if we can never be right. Finally, when we have tests, we even have a quiz right afterwards, and then we continue to have a 2 and-a-half hour lecture. Then, she posts "mini-lectures" to watch online and take notes on after she did not finish her 2 and-a-half hour lecture in class due to her going on off unnecessary tangents. As students of the Early College Program at the Central Virginia Community College Bedford Center, we ask for a change and chance at furthering our education with a new teacher that understands us and does not abuse her power with arrogance and pettiness.
