Remove Dante's Inferno from Monroe Township's High School Curriculum
High schools in Monroe Township, NJ, and other N.J high schools teach Dante's Inferno as part of the Language Art's English curriculum. This book is offensive towards Jews and Muslims, showing graphic images of key religious figures in different levels of Hell. It further shows hatred towards places of worship like mosques. It should be removed from the curriculum so that students don't feel uncomfortable with regards to their personal beliefs at school. This books promotes hatered and bigotry in the name of literature and has no place in any classroom. We demand its immediate removal from the curriculums.
There are better alternatives
already avaible to teach our kids with respect, empathy, love and understanding; values that must be empasized instead of hate.
