General Appeal of the Lay Faithful to Bishop David Walkowiak regarding Covid-19 restrictions

It's killing the people's faith not having our bishops speak up & act on the belief/fact that we are in GOD'S HOUSE! Consuming GOD in the Eucharist. What is there to fear?!

The bishops in Iraq and Lebanon stay and risk their lives under terrorist threat to be there for the flock, and here we can not go to Mass without ridiculous restrictions, bless with holy water, have funeral luncheons, etc. We need our Bishops and priests to be our shepherds, not enforcers of Democrat Communist politicians' control tactics.

We need worship freedom quit drinking the liberal kool aid!

Please let us have Mass as usual, including bringing back the Mass books. The virus isn't any more dangerous on books as a cold virus.

Bring back the Mass booklets. The virus is not going to stay on the books. Again, this is another scare that has no basis. We can get books from the library but can't have them in church? Too many contradictions to these COVID mandates.

Please give us back our freedoms and allow all of the faithful to put their trust back in Jesus! God Himself designed our immune systems to protect us. When we give our bodies clean whole nutrition, our bodies know how to heal themselves. Please stop putting your trust in man. God knows best.

We have been denied free access to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the sacraments by our pastor because we can not wear a mask and will not sign up so that the governor can monitor our religious practices. Why are the bishops more concerned with bowing to "Cesar" than the spiritual well being of the people they are supposed to be shepherding?

Bishop Walkowiak, I sign this petition at the risk of my livelihood, as I am an employee of a parish within your Diocese. However, I agree strongly with the above statement and have felt so since the onset of shutdowns last year. It poses difficulties as an administrator and as one who feels a strong desire to evangelize to all who come to the parish. The mandates within our parishes have put this at odds with the Lord’s calling. God Bless!

It’s past time!!!

Please allow our churches to open to full capacity and resume worship as usual. Churches (our home away from home) that require masks do not feel welcoming or inviting but rather cold and impersonal. In a world that is antagonistic to our faith, let us be bold and courageous. A government that is increasingly hostile to our freedoms will continue on the slippery slope if we allow it. Study the Cristero War of Mexico that took place almost 100 years ago. If history repeats itself it is our fault. St. Jose Sanchez del Rio, pray for us! Viva Cristo Rey!

Thank you to whoever wrote this and shared it - very well said. We are tired of all the governmental mandates impacting our faith life. I feel like I have a muzzle on my face when I am in mass. It is just plan wrong. If someone wants to wear a mask let them but don't make everyone else wear one. I never thought I would see the day when our Catholic Churches would close - where someone wanting to come to church would not be allowed to because of masks or because the church is at the government issued capacity. Please let us get back to normal.
