The school board has officially voted to move away from these standards and restore local control to our classrooms. This outcome reflects the persistence of every person who raised concerns about the direction of our children's education. We will now turn our attention toward the transition process to ensure the …

Why do we have to "change" teaching methods at Ft. Recovery Schools? For years Ft. Recovery has been a model of Excellence and has turned out many well rounded, educated individuals who have made a great impact on our town and surrounding communities. Why do we have to have government "intervention"?

It's unfortunate that such a monumental change to our children's education was not relayed to the parents when the funding was accepted 4 years ago and before implemenation began.

I do not want our children treated as an experiment. Where are the successful "Common Core" schools? How has this been implemented without parental input and awareness? We need to step back and discuss the issues surrounding Common Core.

Although I am a Fort Recovery resident, I do homeschool. However, what effects the testing and curriculum will effect us also. We are already seeing alot of homeschool curriculum lining up with the common core. Not only does the common core need to be out but also the other things that are creeping into the curriculum. We need to get back to the truth!!!

Now we are spending money on the Common Core-aligned textbooks! What if HB237 passes and these standards are repealed? What do we do with these new textbooks? We need to hit the pause button at the local level and take this fight to Columbus.

Common Core is a convoluted, inefficient teaching method that is not helping students learn. Every parent deserves the right to help their children learn and Common Core is taking that right away.

I was present at Dr. Moore's talk that he gave in Celina and I did not see any FR administration or board members in attendance. Dr. Moore is an expert in the field of education. He is not just some turnip who fell off the truck when he came through Celina. Apparently some people are just afraid to hear the truth about Common Core.
