I agree for the removal of Commisioner Alberto Lina in his office.
His intention of opening Balikbayan boxes and taxed the merchandise that OFWs was sending to their families as a token of their love were gifts. OFWs families are looking forward to receiving these gifts.
GIFTS ARE NON TAXABLE....
OFWs sending goodies to their families paid the taxes to the merchandise when they bought it, so why the recipient need to pay more taxes when taxes are already paid at the point of sale....
ANSWER THIS MR. LINA!
You need to step down and get out from your office. We don't want you.

I am signing the petition for the immediate removal in the Office of Commisioner Alberto Lina of the Bureau of Customs.
He does not deserved to run the Office as Commisioner of the Bureau of Customs.
He is not a compassionate man and we don;'t want someone like Lina to run an office with no compassion for the OFWs.
The OFWs work hard for their loved ones, their families. By doing so, they showed their love by sending Balikbayan boxes full of goodies as gifts. to them.
Gifts are non taxable so it shouldn't be taxed.
So why is it that Lina wanted this Balikbayan boxes to be taxed. Corruption comes in any form and what Lina is doing is legalizing corruption.
Remember GIFTS are non taxable.

Balikbayan boxes are gifts to our family in the Philippines, it's personal and private, it should not be opened by anyone except the recipient.
