I hate bloatware! It sucks up space and resources. I don't mind getting to play with pre-loaded apps, but I want to be ale to remove the ones I don't like. I have gotten a few that I liked and keep them running, but others need to go. The other offenders here are the service carriers. They also add junk to the phone that you can't remove. I figure if I'm paying full price for the device (as you typically do on no contract plans) then you should get to remove apps you don't want. Got a free phone - sure I'll put up with some junk apps.

bloatware is the reason i root all my Android devices. Considered going apple for this very reason, thankfully I have the Moto x in order, should have less bloatware, if any at all. TIRED OF BLOATWARE

I understand that manufacturers invest a lot of time and money in new technology and that some of that money may well come from agreements to install third party apps. Under no circumstances however should these items be irremovable unless they're vital to the operation of that particular device.
What happened to freedom of choice? Nobody should be forced to have something they don't want or need. We should be given the option to subscribe to or buy such things but then of coarse those who design these bloatware apps would have to come up with actual useful value for money goods or they would be out of business within a year.
Although it is highly likely that some of this bloatware is provided via sponsorship many are undoubtedly designed by in house or outsourced programmers who require payment and the cost of this will be added to the price we pay. This is in fact very much alike to the BBC (British Bent Corporation) TV Licence in the UK. Anybody with any device whatsoever merely capable of tuning into or recording any BBC broadcast including simply listening to the radio is actually forced by law to pay for something even if they never go near a BBC broadcast and this applies anywhere not just in our homes. Of coarse for the same reasons as the bloatware designers the BBC are terrified of having to go commercial and/or subscription allowing us to decide as to whether or not we want it. I wonder, can i get a law passed that forces everyone with a pair of shoes to buy £140 worth of severely frayed shoe laces from me each year regardless as to whether they want or need them and knowing that they're very close to being or are actually useless, but then of coarse i don't have mega millions or Lords and/or MPs investing in or backing me do i.

Bloat is one of the major reasons I root my phones. I'm considering changing manufacturers (Samsung) to avoid this problem in the future. Why should I have to void the warranty on my phone to avoid apps I didn't pay for and don't want?
