Remove Steve Beard as Head High School Football Coach at WHS

Our goal for this petition is to move forward with much needed change in order to create a positive and successful impact on the Woodstock High School Football Program. As the record indicates from the last five years -10 wins and 35 losses, the Woodstock Blue Streak Football program is in a state of disrepair. Woodstock High School football is suffering due to un-qualified leadership. Nepotistic hiring by Athletic Director Glen Wilson is prevalent in many sports at W.H.S.. Football has the worst record of athletic teams at W.H.S. with the most coaches as alumni. Wilson and (his life-long friend) hired head coach Steve Beard are delusional as they continue to blame the lack of Blue Streak success on school size, dominant conference opponents, and non-talented Woodstock football players. From our point of view, as parents and fans, the deterioration of the football program is occurring from the top-down. Athletic direction at Woodstock High School seems to be more focused on former players and coaches from it’s past than a leadership for winning football teams in the future. Our intent is by no means to place any type of guilt or blame on historical or current team members, but to place the responsibility on the athletic direction and current coaching mindset and it’s lack of leadership. Woodstock community residents have invested (and have had successful winning seasons) in community youth football and middle school teams for years. The Woodstock community has laid the groundwork for success. We believe that bringing in a new athletic director and a new qualified and experienced head coach and staff will bring objectivity and fresh success to Woodstock High School football thus, increasing revenue and leading to a positive football playing and learning experience that is un-biasedand fair.
