We the undersigned wish to urge the removal of all abortion drugs, such as Plan-B, and others, from our Barry's Bay Pharmasave. The free over-the-counter availability of chemical abortion drugs and others products which affect the implantation of a newly conceived embryonic-stage child are a violation of our community standards and impact negatively on the positive family oriented environment in which we live.

Plan-B carries the risk of of causing a chemical abortion and affects implantation of a newly-conceived embryo. It rarely works to suppress ovulation and truly prevent the meeting of male and female gametes "prior" to the moment of conception -- according to the group, Pharmacists for Life.

Other pharmacists when asked, one in BC and another in Toronto, have done the right thing and opted out of carrying such chemical weapons against innocent life. We ask this now of our local Phamasave owner/operator.

So let's put this into perspective. Would you be unsettled by the presence of an abortion clinic in downtown Barry's Bay? How about, an abortion-in-a-box kit for $34.99 at Lorraine's Pharmacy that can easily purchased by anyone over 18(?), even for date rape?

Funny isn't it, how the psychology of perception changes our degree of outrage to moral equivalencies. In our hectic lives as working folk and parents with mountains of bills and worries it is easy to feel overwhelmed. But we can not remain passive. Like the citizens of Auschwitz who rationalized away the stacks pumping out smoke from the nearby "labour camp", we will be judged by history and by the Lord of history.

Please don't allow the little neatly packaged box in a downtown store to disarm your resolve. There is a huge smoke stack in Barry's Bay.
