We, the undersigned members of UMBC Esports, formally state that we do not support the appointment of any advisors to our organization.

UMBC Esports did not request advisors, nor did the organization vote to appoint advisors. The club was not consulted prior to the assignment of Dustin and Alisson, and their appointments do not reflect the will of the organization or its active membership.

Both Dustin and Alisson are former students of UMBC. While Dustin previously served as president of the organization, he is no longer enrolled at the university and does not currently attend UMBC. Despite this, he continues to be involved in the organization without holding an official student role and without prior approval from the club’s current leadership or voting members.

UMBC Esports is recognized as a club sport and also operates as a student organization at UMBC. Leadership, representation, and organizational decision-making must remain the responsibility of currently enrolled students and must be conducted through a transparent and democratic process.

Additionally, multiple members have raised concerns regarding unprofessional and disrespectful conduct, particularly involving Dustin. These concerns include inappropriate or unprofessional communication with current officers, interference with leadership decisions, and actions that undermine the authority of elected student leaders. Such conduct has created internal conflict and has negatively affected the executive board’s ability to function effectively and represent the membership.

By signing below, we affirm our support for this petition and formally request that the current advisor appointments be reconsidered in accordance with the expressed wishes of the UMBC Esports membership
