In this era of the rule of law, arbitrary use of force and misuse of one's office to bully others must not be condoned nor encouraged. Indicipline and lawlessness seem to be on the increase in our dear nation and to send the message home that this is not right, getting our leaders to do and uphold what is right will set the tone for others to follow. Let us learn to respect and allow the institutions set up for apparent wrongs to live up to their name and do their jobs. Let us learn to report 'wrong' to the apprpriate quarters for redress. Play the game by the rules. Do not resort to brute force exerted with total disregard to the rights of property owners and laid down rules and regulations. The Security Chief behaved very badly and must be relieved of his post - He just doesn't make us feel safe anymore.

the President of Ghana, to show that you do not support the reckless use of authority, and do support the use of constitutional and democratic processes to settle disputes, by removing the National Security Coordinator from this sensitive office.

I support this petition because students need to be able to live on campus without fear of intimidation just as your excellency sought to do when he was SRC secretary

Ghana's Independence was won 57 years ago. To think how much further we could have come in all those years, if we could have engaged more fully with the process of our nationhood. I am particularly grateful that we have here, a community of people willing to ask civil rights to be protected. Civil rights are a founding tenet of democracy.

I fully support this petition and suggest people familiarize themselves with the University of Ghana Act and the 1992 constitution.

The custodians of our laws must abide by them before they can enforce them......

Who said academics, middle class et al in our society can't be bothered?

I think there ore other ways to dialogue with the university instead of using brute force and destruction.
