We need to see truly fair pricing, not prices making rich richer at cost to the less fortunate. To my way of thinking, fairer prices promote cash circulation across a wider demographic through making the poorer more able to travel, which maintains revenue for Govt. in the long run.

Removing wishful thinking may be a bit ambitious but setting a reasonable tax would be a good aim.
Def a royal commission into the pricing of fuel.

I drive an hour to and from work every day. The cost of petrol is eating into my pay packet. I’ve just been on holidays interstate. Petrol varied from 160-180. The dearest I paid was 178.
