Dram Shop Law states that Serving a visibly intoxicated person in an establishment is forbidden under statute. South Carolina does not recognize a "first party" cause of action against the tavern owner by an intoxicated adult. While serving a visibly intoxicated person can be considered negligence per se, contributory negilgence and breaks in the chain of causation. Which basically states that one live "First Party" is NOT as important as more than one live. I want to change the law so that is claified that each individual life is just as important as the next, if you are responsible if more than one person is involved then you should be just as responsible if only one life is involved. Please help by signing my petition so that I can take this to the South Caroline state and make a difference.
