The match was absurd. Ash was winning. There could be no other way that time, it's just that the writers want him to lose that's it. I was convinced that he should win. Give him this win.

I've been a fan for 20 years, I've grown up with this world. I think you deserve and should celebrate all this time spent building this experience. Also, having Ash winning a league would not mean the ending of the series. I get it, you want to teach kids that it's okay to lose; however, it is even more important to learn that once you achieved something you can always try to reach more, improving yourself even beyond your imagination. Dragon Ball had Son Goku lose many times, but also winning.
