I’m objecting to the location of the new PADS homeless shelter on north Lewis in Waukegan. This is too close to the school. I will be afraid to send my child to the school.

As a client of PADS I could not agree more with your concerns. I did not ask for homelessness, I came here for help. And you are right; PADS only care about PADS.

PADS, we pay property taxes, the highest property taxes in the area is Lake County, and yet we have to see our neighborhood overrun with homeless people.
I am not negating the assistance they receive, but how PADS affects the neighborhood CANNOT be ignored!

I work near the PADS building and it has become a major issue to our environment with all the littering. It has become an uncomfortable location for business since we always have people from that building come and just sit in our office, and then get very aggressive and even threaten us if we ask them to leave. Something must be done. We have gone to the extent of keeping the door locked and buzz customers in just because of the inconvenience.

I have stopped patronizing businesses within the PADS area because I grew tired of being harassed for money from people that don’t even live within the Waukegan city limits. I know many people that have. In a time where we need to work on bettering our city, busing in homeless people from other parts of the county shouldn’t be a priority for us.

I work close by the pads location and I have seen in many occasions people from that local trying to brake in the cars, not only that the garbage is ridiculous out of hand.
