On December 22, 1985, Ronald Maxwell Gorham was convicted in DC Superior Court of First Degree Murder While Armed, Felony Murder While Armed, Robbery While Armed, Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery While Armed and Carrying a Pistol without a License. Ronald Maxwell Gorham has now served approximately 26 years of his almost 53 years of life in prison. The sentence he received was so severe because he had a co-defendant who wanted to go to trail. After the death of Wendall Ford and every day since Ronald Maxweel Gorham has been sincerely remorseful of his actions. Ronald Maxwell Gorham takes full responsilbility for his part in the death of Wendall Ford; he knows that his life choices of being addicted to alcohol and illegal substances lead to the unjust taking of Wendall Ford's life. During his time in prison he has turned his life around by staying sober for the last twenty three (23) years, he has received an Associate Degree in Urban Studies (University of District of Columbia) and also completed and received certificates in such courses as Project P.A.C.T. (Peacemaking and Conflict Transformation), Lifestyle Issues, Life Connections Program(an 18 month Re-Entry program), Men of Influence (a program he co-founded and facilitates). Ronald Maxwell Gorham has also completed and has certificates in Auto CAD Basics, Business Management and Advanced Electrical Class. Along with Ronald Maxwell Gorham's educational achievements and personal growth elevation, he has managed to remain conflict and troble free during his incarceration. Because of Ronald Maxwell Gorham's total life transformation and his sincere commitment to changing his life for the better I believe that the rest of that life would benefit our community because his passion is to become a Youth Guidance Counselor and be a very active and productive citizen in our society. By signing this petition you are agreeing that it is time for the release of Ronald Maxwell Gorham.
