For The Release of the 2011 MUSICARES Person of The Year Tribute on DVD / Digital Format / Television

It has come to the attention of all of us, the undersigned, that although cameras were present and professional filming was successful, the 2011 MusiCares Person of The Year tribute (held on February 11, 2011), honoring Barbra Streisand, will NOT be released in any format (DVD, digitally or aired on television). This is quite frankly, a travesty. We, as true admirers and fans of Barbra Streisand AND the talented artists who performed in her honor at this event, are hereby respectfully requesting this decision be seriously reconsidered. To have all of these musical artists come together to perform in one place in honor of one of the most successful recording artists of all-time, Barbra Streisand, is truly an extremely rare event.

The volume of support has reached a level where we have successfully transitioned from a grassroots effort to a formal outreach phase. I am currently drafting a letter to the MusiCares administrative office to request a meeting regarding the archival release of this event. Further updates will follow once I receive a response from their legal department.

i need to see this performance. love her so much and the lineup is just to good to stay hidden.
Bring it out already! People have been waiting years for this footage. What are they waiting for?
We want the DVD! stop holding out on us.
STREISAND SANG NINE SONGS and nobody was allowed to see it? This is just ridiculous.
Ridiculous to film the whole thing just to stick it in a vault. Release the show.

How can you just lock away a night like that? It makes no sense to hide such amazing talent from the fans who would actually appreciate it.
