Here we go again!!! I know its hard to believe but the killing of wild winter steelhead on the Umpqua is back on ODFW’s table for discussion. As our regional biologist testified at the last commission meeting, it is the states position that the Umpqua System hosts a robust enough run to allow the harvest of wild steelhead. Ironically, this was a position once held by nearly every regional biologist in the past that allowed a harvest on their region’s streams as the wild returns were brought to their knees. Let’s preserve the state’s last remaining great winter run before it’s too late. Please get on and sign the petition!!!
The scale of this response is a clear signal that the public will not accept the potential loss of such a vital species. This momentum demonstrates that our concerns are widely shared and truly significant.

TOTAL B.S. ODFW never learns. They always wait until it is way too late to do anything.

Wild steelhead are a treasure. Keeping them is just shortsighted.

Leave these fish alone! We need to protect the wild ones before they are gone forever. My kids deserve to see them in the river.

Stop the harvest. We already lost enough runs to poor management in this state.
