They should be allowed to stay in their homes whilst awaiting assessment and judgement - this is cruel and a money making system, which many families can ill afford.

I know firsthand how dogs who have been seized purely on looks come out of kennels. They are not looked after as well as they would be at home. They are not allowed to be given their own food, or have access to toys. They are taken from loving homes to be put in a tiny cell without stimulation. They come back with broken teeth because of their boredom. Let alone the deep sadness inflicted on their owners who wake up everyday and cry about their lonely pets. This is a complete waste of time when they can be left at home they should. This country is outrageous.

Please release these dogs, it’ so cruel to keep them in unsuitable kennels, often there through no fault of their own. It’s so distressing for the dogs and owners alike.

We desperately need a law to protect people and others against dangerous dogs and their irresponsible owners. The current law is expensive and completely dysfunctional. More dogs are murdered for their looks, rather than actual dangerous dogs being euthanised. Keeping dogs locked up for so long unnecessarily is detrimental to their health and behaviour. The amount of time these dogs are kept locked up is enough to effect the most placid dogs behaviour. Great Britain an animal loving nation, really, we have a law that we know doesn’t work yet we continue to mentally torture and murder innocent dogs we are no better than China at least they don’t claim to be something they are not.

This is disgusting. There is a dog across from me that has bitten 4 times really bad and the police have left it there.It is extremely vicious but it's not his fault it's his owners fault and the way they treat him.Police didn't take him on each occasion they were called because they were scared of being called racist and so this dog continues to suffer and WILL bite again.

The emotional trauma these poor dogs go through when they are locked up in police custody is criminal in itself. Taken away from everything they know, from people that love them and put in a kennel for weeks and months on end with little contact. What do you think that does to a dog mentally and emotionally. What about their owners?? Emotional trauma too, stress, anxiety and not to mention loss of income due to unnecessary court fee and then what these does have to endure when they can go home. The dog should not be held accountable for the way it looks and what it is expected to do, be vicious. I know Jack Russell's that are vicious as hell and these little dogs were bred and raised for hunting but are extremely popular family dogs with young kids. This legislation needs to be changed. Authorities can not go around destroying dogs because of what they might do. Yet you keep human murderers and rapists alive. Go figure.

It is unfair to lock dogs up just because of their looks and breeding. A kot of kind and gentle souks have been destroyed for no reason. It's ridiculous. Imagine if we could do the same to people purely by association!! What a world we live in...

I do not want the tax I pay to go towards detaining innocent dogs.
