As a Marine Veteran who has also worked for the judicial system, I can honestly say that I am shocked by the fact that his mental health at the time of incident wasn't taken into consideration. Our streets are overrun with real criminals, while our prisons remain the homes of those who should be helped rather than punished. I've seen more true criminals walk free on probation than I care to comment about. This man deserves better, he served his country, our country, mine and yours, he is suffering and needs help, not his entire life in a prison cell when absolutely no one was injured. Pedophiles get less time than he's getting. It's disgusting.

This sentence is incredibly wrong. Would not have happened in Georgia or many other states, not even mentioning in what light this puts Florida internationally. Please show that you know the principles of true justice.

I have a family member who is bipolar. Definitely difficult to maintain but harder to control without medication !

It's wrong and abusive to keep a mentally ill person that fought for our country and as a result is he is now mentally ill. This is disgusting injustice and I'm sure against the law.

Aaron should not be incarcerated in jail but should be in a treatment center for his mental state The government should help people like Aaron get the proper care they need

This man needs treatment not incarceration! His country has let him down.

Our veterans are asked to do the unthinkable, then forgotten about by the VA once they arrive home. I have many friends who "will never be the same". We owe them everything the system has to offer. I pray that the DA's office will do some soul searching here and get him the help he needs...The kids have lost a dad who chose to selflessly enlist when his country needed him most. Godspeed

Aaron is as good a man that I have know. To incarnate someone instead of helping find out the root of the issue does him no justice.

Doctors make mistake when diagnosing all the time. They sometimes prescribe the wrong medication which causes reactions. Please stop labeling Aaron!! You're not helping his cause but hurting it. The label makes him invisible and hides the real reason. He was prescribed the wrong medication and Police handled the situation wrong! During the incident no one was hurt nor did he try to hurt anyone. He called for help so an ambulance should have come to his aid. Instead, he had guns pointed at his face. The tragedy is the label is covering the truth!! The real problem is that everyone involved from the doctor to the police had a role and must take responsibility. He went to the doctors, and they failed him. If we don't speak up, we will fail him also. It can easily be us wearing his shoes.

Please get him help in a mental health facility. This veteran doesn't deserve to be in jail.

I have known Aaron for many years as he is the brother of my very good friend. I personally know him to be a loving and kind person who unfortunately suffers from mental issues. I hope the system will do the right thing and get him the help he needs rather than incarcerating him.
