5 inmates as of today have passed away from complications of Covid-19. All 5 were incarcerated at Oakdale federal prison. All across the United States Covid-19 has spread inside jails and prisons. Oklahoma Dept of corrections has just now confirmed it's first positive Covid-19 infected victim within D.O.C. This petition is calling up on the Governor of Oklahoma Governor Stitt to begin releasing inmates from prison. I understand some type of protocol must be in place as we don't want to endanger society with people that harm children and serial killers, but we ask that the Governor take into consideration inmates within a year of discharge, non violent offenders, and sick and or elderly inmates with conditions that make them more susceptible to being infected with Covid-19.
