About time Pakistan sheds off it's religious hypocrisy. Stuck in the medieval/feudal ethos, ruled by the cut-throat ignorant mullahs and the military, Pakistan needs more secular minded enlightened academics like Prof Hafeez to bring this country to modern age.

The so called Blasphemy law really means killing innocent people in the name of religion. Such savage laws should not be allowed to exist in any civilized society. Existence of such a barbaric law in Pakistan is absolutely horrendous and must be condemned by every right thinking person in the world. The so called blasphemy law does not exist anywhere in the world, except Pakistan. Although in theory it has place in the English legal system, the truth is that law is never applied or enforced in the UK and hence, it is an obsolete law in that country. No rational society or community can endorse such a diabolic law. Indeed, it does not enjoy the backing of any religion, inclusive of Islam. We must all, irrespective of our faith, nationality, race, ethnic identity, cast or creed condemn Pakistan for keeping this harrowing law afloat and ask Pakistani authorities to wipe out this deplorable law from their statute book to make their legal system compatible with civilized standard. We must also ask Pakistani authorities to release Professor Junaid Hafeez from unethical detention forthwith.

This is a Draconian Law that is man made and must be annulled with immediate effect and Junaid Hafeez must be released immediately!
