This petition made to hopefully speed up the process for the release of non violent offenders. I am currently one of thousands in the state of Virginia that is very concerned for our loved ones in prison who have no escape from this COVID-19 pandemic.They are currently trying to release only nonviolent offenders with less than 60 days left but that still leaves many in there that are there bc of minuscule charges or repeat offenses that should be released in this time of crisis. My fiance George Burns is pulling 5 years just for a violation of probation. He is 45 with underlying health problems and was permanently disabled for over 20 years. There are many others in the same situation and with this global pandemic they have no escape from the virus. Currently the state only considers release if one of the prisoners contracts the virus and even that takes a long time. Please sign this petition so it can be sent governor and the Virginia DOC and hopefully bring our loved ones home to us. Thanks!
