Enough is Enough!!!Consular officials are responsible for protecting the interests of thier Nationals abroad, be they permanent residents or temporary visitors. If you are a Ghanaian living abroad then you are no stranger to how frustrating it can be trying to get a passport or any information from the Ghana consulate in the US, specifically, Washington DC. Here are a few of the issues we are asking to be fixed.
LOST PASSPORTS MAILED IN TO GHANA CONSULATE
CHARGES FOR EXPEDITING SERVICES (They never stick to the timeframe for which they charge for)
NO CALL PICKUPS
LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF STAFF (ABOUT GENERAL POLICIES AND LAWS OF GHANA)
Either the consulate performs efficiently or RESIGN!! Diplomatic passports were given to them for a purpose. We will send a copy of this petition to the president of Ghana as well as the US department of state so they are aware of the many fustrations Ghanaians face in the US with the consulate.
Applying pressure to these authorities will either get the consulate to sit up and go to work like they are supposed to or resign, maybe even a call from the Department Of State or perhaps the White House. It's time to hold our leaders accountable!!! No politics here, just real people looking for results and accountable governance.
