It would be a big mistake to let Gretta go as she keeps the pulse of the church within her hands. She knows. And having to deal with this stuff has drawn her away from that which is important to her. That's her congregation but they have stood with Gretta. My United Church includes Gretta.

The traditional framework of the church must change along with the vocabulary used to describe faith.

It is time to change. The United Church drove us away years ago. I attended a service recently and related to Gretta's message.

My relationship over the past 8 years with West Hill and Gretta Vosper have led me to a place of deeper commitment and responsibility to living in just relationship with all life. We experience goodness in community and this is the closest I've come to an experience of God.

It seems to me that Jesus modeled radical inclusivity and love in his time and place and that we must do no less. Why do we fear to be challenged -??

I am a UCC member and support Rev Vosper and the congregation at West Hill.

I am signing the petition in support of asking the sub-executive to reject the recommendation made respecting Gretta Vosper. I cannot say that I agree with the pre-amble in it's entirety and wish that it had not gotten into that level of detail without providing sufficient information on the process for those signing the petition to make an informed decision. However, I feel strongly that expressing support for Gretta's "faithfulness" albeit markedly different from my own beliefs is more important requiring wordsmithing of this document.

This whole process is so flawed I wonder how you can count yourselves as Christians ???

I am very disappointed in the 19 people who made the negative decision determining gretta to be unsuitable as a Minister. She is a voice for the future. The Sub-Executive's decision is rooted in the past. The United Church is doomed to extinction should you continue to follow this path. You will lose West Hill United, along with many other United Church followers. It's a shame that the decision was not a positive, accepting, embracing and loving one....that is what you advertise the United Church to be, I think you can do better in preparing for your Church's survival, and being that welcoming all inclusive organization that is promoted within the United Church.

There are many ways to experience the sacred. Attempting to silence Gretta in this way will deprive many folk both within and beyond the United Church of Canada of experiencing the sacred within contemporary concepts and language.

If you censure Gretta, you will have to censure the two ministers of Sourhminster-Steiner in Edmonton. Then how many other churches in Canada will have to have their ministers censured. Leave Greta alone.

This decision perturbs me deeply. It has a certain "circling the wagons" feel to it that does not bode well for the future of the UCCan. And I am another who is seriously re-considering her membership, and her very active participation, in a UCCan congregation, that tends to the left-leaning.

I have never been to another church such as Gretta Vosper's where the service has held such warmth and there is a feeling to do good for oneself and the world

A gifted and talented minister whose voice needs to be heard in the church

Gretta is living her faith... not just preaching it. I value her perspective and insights greatly. I believe it would be a mistake of monumental proportions if she is removed as a minister of the United Church of Canada. If this were to happen, I would also remove myself as a minister of this church I have served for over 40 years.
