There is no need for any flags to be flying. All it does is promote sectarianism. That's not what we want.....for the sake of harmony and learning to live together as equals it is vital both cultures respect each other

Indeed there are flags flown in ballycastle. Following the the flag protest at sheskburn a tri-colour was erected at the top of the town altanamham park. Also graffiti on the quay road following the events in Palestine.
So if we agree no flags and equality in our Moyle area surley these things should not be happening and should be dealt with the people who are against it.
Flying a flag and graffiti in ballycastle will not solve problems else where. We need to clean our own town before we go saving others.
I can't think of a kinder welcoming place to live or for visitors.
Community spirit next to none, warm wholesome people and hope ballycastle stays in head lines for all right reasons.

Please no flags of any kind on any council building or property and keep these places free for people to work in peace. Also think ALL local communities should work together to make sure flags in there area is not covered to a point of madness and that they are removed straight away as flags that is up at Christmas and ripped to pieces looks tire-able and disrespectful. Flags for 12th July should only be up on 11th and down on the 13th if they respect the flag and same with Catholic community they should be taken straight down after a match etc.

Please no flags of any kind on any council building or property and keep these places free for people to work in peace. Also think ALL local communities should work together to make sure flags in there area is not covered to a point of madness and that they are removed straight away as flags that is up at Christmas and ripped to pieces looks tire-able and disrespectful. It saddens me to see any flags flying anywhere in Northern Ireland, because the flags (from both traditions) have negative associations for significant proportions of our collective community. Whether we like it or not, and whether we think it should be or not, erecting flags is a negative act in the real world WE live in. Can we not just move forward together celebrating this most special and beautiful of council areas? Show leadership to the rest of the country/province/six counties...whatever you want to call it? CCGBC must be the most spectacular of all of the council areas. So much positive, forward-looking, great stuff is happening here...it would be such a shame to 'colour' it.

i think flags have caused too many problems in this country. Just look at ballycastle where no flags are flown and everyone lives in harmony with their beliefs and cultures.
