Reject Parole of convicted killer Robert Anderson Spedding

Spedding is an animal that needs to spend the rest of his days in a cage. Governor Brown needs to do the right thing here. Reject this murdering scum’s parole. Do not release him back into society where he will continue to kill and terrorize other innocent souls. Ernie was one the sweetest and most righteous people I have had the pleasure to call a friend. Ask anyone in the Soquel High School Class of 1968 and they will tell the same story. Ernie was a good man whose life was cut way too short. Governor Brown, this one is a no brainer. Please do not approve this parole decision. We plead with you to formally reject the parole of Spedding on behalf of Ernie’s family, friends and humanity.

Given the nature of this man's crime it is appalling that anyone could think this man is rehabilitated. If there is to be justice for the victim this man must stay in prison and pay for the terrible waste he created for himself and others.

There is a pathology attached to these types of crimes and decision making process. please reject his parole and in doing so protect potential new victims.

I am sick and tired of politicians letting creep after creep out to do it again. This so-called person will never get a job and live off the taxpayer in one form or another. I prefer he do this behind bars.

Honorable Governor Brown: If indeed, as stated in the parole board's report, "the inmate (Robert Spedding) 'lacks insight' into his crime" how on earth has he been "rehabilitated"? If Mr. Spedding - after so many years of incarceration - "lacks insight" into the senseless, hideous deed he committed, how can we be certain he someday won't pose a threat to some other, innocent soul and do them serious injury, or worse? Ernie King was a much-beloved "family member" of the community that is Santa Cruz. He was a star athlete, a student leader, a scholar and had to overcome physical handicaps to do so. He was a friend and inspiration to many of us. And he was taken from us in a most cruel and untimely way. Until inmate Robert Spedding truly shows "Insight" into his deliberate murder of Ernie King - and has actual, heartfelt contrition over it - he should not be welcomed back into society.
