Reject the Proposed Lime Ridge Open Space FLOW Trails

I strongly oppose this proposed bike trail expansion. I live in Timberleaft Ct. and this greatly impacts our court as well the entire community. The increased fire risk behind Timberleaf Ct. has significantly increased each passing year due to California's drought conditions. What makes matter worse is that the City has done very little maintenance to mitigate this fire risk. This trail will also greatly impact the environment and wildlife that we all enjoy seeing behind our homes. It will also attract more risk of crime due to people coming from all over the Bay Area to ride this trail. It will also disrupt our privacy. We strongly oppose it.

It is hard to sign this petition without seeing and reading the city’s P and R proposal about expanding and enhancing the trails for trail bikers. Just got back looking at the trail entrance and walked up the hill. The Timberleaf Trail is on the official WC Open Open Space map. After seeing the trail, my suggestion is to prohibit trail bikes on this tail ( hard to enforce) or better yet it is have the city delete the 0.3 mile Timberleaf Trail from the map and physically block the trail at both ends and eliminate the gate and signs at Timberleaf Ct. A strong petition addressing our issues and concerns should be presented to W.C. Park an Rec. and if necessary to the City Council... Gary Bonfiglio Quail Crest Drive

Strongly opposed. Will be a danger to residents backing out of their driveways and bikers coming down the hill.

Attended the City Parks and Recreation Meeting - They did not even ask Rancho Paraiso residents for feedback. Just because of their action, the City do not represent our interest as WC residents. This is unacceptable.

I attended the Zoom meeting and was shocked that the City failed to engage our neighborhood prior to this proposal. There are too many issues with this proposal that have not been carefully considered.

Another effort to make a peaceful, beautiful area noisy and ugly. All for the benefit of a few; reject this concept.

Apparently, mountain bikers have caused damage to sensitive plants and erosion on existing trails in Lime Ridge Open Space. Rather than dealing directly with the problem, the city is proposing to move the problem to our area. There are better options for trail access and trail routing that would minimize adverse impacts on our community.

They can easily access off of valley vista road. I adamantly reject the access point from our neighborhood snd the increases security risks to access our homes.

I very opposed to this new mountain bike trail. Many concerns, including increased congestion, fire danger, natural habitat damage and additional bikers speeding dangerously down Arbolado Dr. Most of these bikers are observed not wearing masks during pandemic, showing their lack of concern for walkers in neighborhood who have to walk in their exhaust.

I am strongly opposed to any development on the hills behind us.

This will add bikers on Arbolado Dr. They are already speeding down Arbolado at breakneck speed.

I live in the court on Timberleaf. I am greatly opposed to the proposed flow bike trail. The open space needs to be preserved. Many factors are of concern with it: fire danger, increased traffic, environmental damage, erosion, wildlife impacts. Preserve it for future generations to come.

The use of the open space for this purpose and the increase in traffic on Arbolado possibly could require a environmental review under CEQA. Has the Walnut Creek City Attorney issued an opinion on this?
