Reject the Proposed Lime Ridge Open Space FLOW Trails

It does not make sense to add this trail entrance

As someone who has enjoyed the peace and quiet of this trail for many years, I feel that opening a new trail would make it more crowded and noisy, and would scare away the wildlife we enjoy quietly observing.

There is no reason to expand Lime Ridge Open space even more

I both mountain bike and hike the trails, and this trail is a very bad idea. This is not the right place for such a trail.

Pls make out trails safe for all but also where people have a safe and special place to enjoy.

Do not want a biking only trail feeding into neighborhood. The city has no control over e-bikes.

I DO NOT support - this is a really bad idea. I would thing that during these trying times the funds could be applied to a better cause.

Bike tracks need to be respectful of other usages - like hikers - and they also need to be designed to protect the natural state of the area that is intended for the bike track. They also, due their intended attraction of out of area visitors, need to have adequate parking lot spaces spaces to accommodate these out of area visitors (intending to use the bike track.} The proposed bike track, with access only from Timberleaf Court, will not respect other usage and the natural habitat of the space. Further, there is no parking lot available near the proposed sole access point to the bike track. Having a residential area as the sole access point seems unusual. This is particularly so given that there are already parking lots near trail heads near Boundary Oak Golf Course and also off of Ygnacio Valley Road (on the Concord/Walnut Creek border) that will accommodate out of area visitors intending to use a bike track. So, why would you build a bike track attraction without parking lot spaces? Why would you encourage curb-side parking in a residential area that is not intended to accommodate out of area visitors.? Why would you assume that the proposed area was not worthy of preservation of its natural habitat? And finally, why would you not consider the usage for alternative uses - like the hikers that use this area already. This proposal was not well considered and needs to go back to the drawing board. Surely a bike track can be accommodated in a place that already has a parking lot, Surely enough access for mountain bikers to biking areas on Mt. Diablo exists already. These foothills these particular areas are made for hiking.

Limeridge use to be one of my favorite places to hike. It is both close to my house, peaceful, and beautiful. I no longer want to hike there because of all the bikers. I have no problem sharing with them the trails that are designated for cyclists and hikers, but they are all over the small trails that are for hikers only. Most of them are going so fast that I barely can barely scramble out of the way. And it is not just an occasional one on the hiking only trails, it is one after another constantly. I am afraid that one day a bike will hit me full on, and I will be seriously injured. Plus they are adding to the erosion of these narrow trails and tearing them up. I would prefer that bikers are banned on Limeridge instead of giving them more trails. Giving them a trail of their own is not going to stop the bad behavior, it will just encourage it, and bring even more bikers out to the area where they will continue biking in off-limit areas. Again, don't mind sharing trails with bikers, but only if they follow the rules also. Since they don't, I don't want to give them any more encouragement to use Limeridge as their own personal bike park.

I do not support the current plan for access to and from Timberleaf Court. The planning process should include impacted homeowners and consider issues related to parking in the neighborhood.

The city is designing a flow trail that is for bikers only, per the city's own representatives. Hikers will not be able to use it. It will be a one-way-only flow trail.

I don't think you can say it's just for bikers. hikers will use it as well.

I'm against losing this trail to bikers. We need more hiking and equestrian trails not less. The additional traffic could also create a dangerous situation around Arbolado park.

An increased risk of FIRE is a major concern for our family.
