It seems illogical to cap some over-crowded schools and then bus children to an even more over-crowded school. Highcroft is already way over capacity and should not have to absorb all the costs associated with further growth in this part of the county.

We all realize due to the influx of new neighborhoods overcrowding will continue to be an issue for a long time to come. All we can ask is that you do your best to share this burden across all the schools in the area rather than further overloading Highcroft.

Our students already suffer from overcrowding. There are many school in west Cary and they should share some of this burden. Additional mobile unitS at Highcroft are NOT the answer.

I urge our school board leaders to get over politics and self-interests. Move to multi-year tracks to help address capacity issues. It's a simple numerical calculation; multi-year tracks maximize utilization. Furthermore, Leaders, overcrowding DOES impact the quality of education and learning experience... adversely. Children come first; more modulars at Highcroft is an entirely unacceptable solution.

Overcrowded schools are not conducive to a safe and stable learning environment. I have to highly active boys who need the space outside to run and be active. Not only is the exercise important for their health, it also helps them focus during the school day. Having additional modular units is not acceptable because it will take the space of the open space on their play grounds. Also, next year it is likely that my son will be in one of the modular units. It frightens me to think he will be walking outside on his own to go into the main building to use the restroom facilities. I don’t understand how Highcroft can keep adding modular units when other schools don’t have any.

HDE is already overcrowded and the new neighborhoods going in around HDE are going to make it worse. An additional trailer is going to cause major safety and security concerns, as well as drastically decrease our outdoor play space. We can't have any schools overflow to HDE. We don't have room. We can't put another trailer on the back field. Let Carpenter Elementary and Turner Creek Elementary who have plenty of room, take some of the growth until new schools open up. Highcroft has been through enough already.

My kids already complain about the lack of space for outdoor and recess activities. Recess and outdoor activities are critical to kids learning with team sports, sharing, and generally getting along with others. Not to mention, kids today don’t get near the amount of exercise as they did just 20-30 years ago. Adding another trailer to the playground will crowd the play field and make team sports such as soccer, football, or kickball impossible. Often times band-aid solutions cause more problems than fixes. Its clear Wake County and Cary Town Officials are not on the same page as they have not properly planned for the school growth in our area. Please do not punish kids for the lack of planning by adults, come up with a real plan in building top quality schools in our County.

Highcroft students should not have to bear the burden of the overflow! their safety and security should come first and the modular units are a security risk

The idea that builders can continue to build without any idea where or when there will be enough schools for the families who move in is ludicrous. I'm happy that the residents of West Cary and HDE school district are joining together to express our joint dissatisfaction.

I currently have a daughter in the third grade Husky Hut trailer. I worry about her safety daily from unwanted visitors. We also need to remember how often we have severe weather especially in the summer. This is a huge safety concern of mine because there is not always adequate time to get the children safely in the main building and the kids must go outside to get to safety. No trailers!!!!

For almost 9 years my 3 children have not had a stable schedule at HDE.First year opened as traditional calander then went to year round then single track. Our family endured years of being split between middle school on traditional calendar and elementary on year round!! Enough is enough with HDE being the ones who always take the overfliw
