As a Vietnam Veteran, who was blown up in combat, earning the Purple Heart, I appreciated that from the day Family Farm and Home opened their Auburn location they offered a discount to those who had served. Given the way we were treated when we came back to the States, it was nice to be appreciated, rather than condemned. I am writing because the Family Farm and Home Store located at 350 N Grandstaff Dr, Auburn, IN 46706 has discontinued their Veterans’ Discount program. They continue to offer 4H and FFA discounts, but choose to discontinue the discount recognising the sacrifice of the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces. Now, 4H and FFA are worthy causes to support, I’m sure, but without the service and sacrifice that veterans have made for our freedom, they might not have the liberty to exist. I have spent quite a bit of money in the Family Farm and Home store since it first came to Auburn, but I am deeply disappointed in the direction corporate management has taken in recent months, and will be considering alternatives for future purchases. I am sure that Veterans and those who support them in our community will consider this as well.
