This petition was started because the JCE now closes at half 3pm everyday and also stopped opening on Saturday. These times are not practical because the average student knocks off at 5pm then has to rush to Res to collect their supper then head to gym after that. The normal 21h00 from the previous years worked perfectly and that's why we are writing this to WITS sports.
The people here are those thatalready signed up and many more that would love to sign up but don't find it practical.
We understand the university wants to promote "the expensive gym" but we urge the university not to do that at our expense. Most of our students do not have that kind of money to pay for it. Now you're forcing them to use gyms on main campus and that's far especially considering the fact that they have to use buses to go and come back by the time they're back home it's already 10pm.
Please, we are not asking for something that's never been done before. We all know how important gym is so allow us to use the facility that some of us have been using for years. It makes everything easier for us.

The emails I sent to Wits sports are still sitting in a dark corner without a response. It is exhausting to navigate this bureaucracy while just trying to get a fair schedule back for the gym. I am tired but I am not dropping this.

The gym closing at 3pm is ridiculous. Most of us are in lectures until way later than that. We need it open till 9pm like before.

I cant believe they expect us to go all the way to main campus. Its just not practical for us living here. Fix the times please.
