Chung Do Mu Sool Won was the best elective I ever had. I would recommend the course to anyone attending NIU, and the school should find a way to bring it back. Students should have a safe place to master themselves and that's what this course offered.

I attended NIU and was introduced to Chung Do Mu Sool Won even before classes begun. It became a major part of my experience at NIU and part of who I am. It is a martial art that stretches the brain and body to do new things which I strongly feel improved my overall grades as I struggled with school in high school but was getting straight As in college and was on the Dean's list.
I kindly encourage you to not only maintain this gem of a martial art but to promote it.

To do away with this program would hinder the opportunity for students or individuals to be able to better themselves in multiple facets. I personally came from this program and I continue to this day to hold it close to my heart. Take my word not only as a product of this organization, but as a graduate of NIU and a United States Marine that this program must stay!

Dan taught me how to defend myself. He's a really cool guy and taught me a lot of lessons. His training has enlightened me and I'm glad to have taken part of this class. Please bring it back! Dan is a true homie!

Even though NIU offers a good program for mental discipline as far as education the kids today are not in very good shape physically martial arts would affect them mentally and physically in a positive way

Had I not found Mike and Dan Augsburger during my sophomore year at NIU I may not have graduated. These men do an excellent job teaching their craft and do an outstanding job crafting and molding young lives. Their teaching is second to none.

NIU graduate, I achieved my 2nd degree Black Belt under Mike Augsburger. Fantastic and gifted instructor and would definitely be an asset to NIU's curriculum.

These classes have helped so many young people deal with the stress of being away from home and just college life. Don't let them end. Master Mike is an awesome instructor who has worked hard to ensure that his students are able to be proficient in the martial arts.

In a community where multiple robbing notifications and assaults are notifified to students weekly it should be encouraged to take a class making you more comfortable in your skin. Self defense classes help you stay fit, your confidence and your ability to stand your own.

Martial arts is essential to self defense. And in a world full of rape culture it's only right that these classes be available for any student to learn to protect themselves.
