Teicholz book exposed a lot of the flimsy research behind the US push of Low Fat High Carb diets which has led to dramatic increases in diabetes. If the panel doesn't want to include a science writer, then they should bring on a few of the many MD's who are trying to reverse this disastrous high carb advice. People say Asians eat high carb but Japanese have fish for breakfast, and don't frantically trim every ounce of fat off their meat. French love their baguettes but they don't have cereal and toast and OJ for breakfast.

Nina Teicholz should be allowed back onto the panel. What's 'eating' at you all?

Stop this ridiculous government from not facing the facts. I read Nina's book. It is extremely well researched. Nina is looking out for the truth. I'm guessing these government officials are very scared of of her. Shame to them all!

please listen to Nina's opinion, especially if you find them contrary. That is how good science is created. Nina's insights have helped me tremendously ... as they have helped many others ..

Tragic that so called scientist can't separate dogma from science. Or perhaps worse, they can and choose corruption.

Nina needs to be on the food panel. Big food should not be on the panel they are only out for the dollars, not what is good for us.

How can you have a panel discussion about Food Policy when the general public questions the underlying science. Nina Teicholz needs to be on the panel to explain the NAM review of the DGA. The CSPI claims the 2015 DGA is beyond criticism, but the public thinks that the recommendations are useless, corrupted and harmful. The DGA must take alternative opinions seriously to gain the trust of the public. Excluding Teicholz from the panel just further discredits the DGA.

Thrown off the Food Policy panel...really? Nina Teicholz is the voice we need with much knowledge and understanding that has been kept quiet for too long. NOT the greed of corporations. The Food Policy panel is attempting to continue the obesity epidemic and illness, on many levels. Oh, but hey, we have drugs for that, right? GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please bring Nina Teicholz back to the Food Policy panel. This panel needs some objective members who are not tied to the food industry nor bedded down in old nutrition dogma. Our historic low-fat paradigm has been a dismal failure as nutrition guidance, and now the industry seems determined to push a plant-based approach to nutrition that has not been validated by good science. An outsider such as Nina will help bring all sides of interested parties to this panel.

Allowing self serving food and ag industry interests to create our food policy has led to a nation of obese and chronically ill population. Removing a voice of independent science and reason is a travesty.
