In the 1950s, a physiologist named Ancel Keys did a study that claimed to show a link between saturated fat and heart disease in six countries. But data was available for 22 countries, and when it was included in the study, the relationship disappeared. Even if Keys had found a correlation between fat intake and heart disease, it means nothing on its own because, as any good scientist knows, correlation does not always mean causation. Then, in the 1970s, the federal government got in on the act, endorse Keys' theory that saturated fat clogs arteries and causes heart disease. They created dietary guidelines encouraging Americans to eat more grains and less red meat. Today, Americans get less than 10 percent of their total calories from saturated fat, and our rates of obesity and heart disease keep going up. Worse yet, we are seeing a dramatic increase in type 2 diabetes caused by our increased carb intake. If saturated fats really make us fat and sick, then why is our health getting worse as we eat less of those foods?
Nina Teicholz has bravely presented the truth about the flimsy science behind the current low-fat nutritional dogma, but because of this, she has been blacklisted and singled out for ridicule by closed-minded medical professionals and politicians. We need open-mindedness on this subject, and that is what she brings. Please reinstate her NOW!

It is time for the Food Policy Panel to reconsider their potentially misguided low-fat, high carbohydrate policies!!! Nina Teicholz is the perfect addition to balance the panel out!!!

We should not reject facts just because they don't fit into some scientists' narrow-mindedness. After all this is how science advances!

There are diabetics such as myself who with a LC diet have been off ALL medication for 4.5 years. It is therefore gross arrogance to say such a diet is wrong and you must accept only my opinion.

Pre-choosing answers by pre-choosing people designed to all agree with the status quo is lame and harmful to everything - our country, our people, our science. Teicholz speaks for actual science and hence the people -- not corporate interests, LIFE interests.
