We, the undersigned, call on Rutgers University to reinstate the shuttle bus stop at 180 W. Market Street.
The RBHS campus is not an island within the Newark community. Students have been subject to harassment and theft both on campus and directly outside of campus housing. Removing this bus stop has left students more vulnerable to such incidents, particularly at night.
Emails to the Office of Public Safety and the Department of Transportation have proven fruitless. Rutgers University must take action to move forward in ensuring the safety of its students while on campus.

Seriously? The university keeps ignoring all the theft reports anyway. Typical.
it makes no sense to cut the stop when the neighborhood is already bad. Rutgers needs to wake up before something truly awful happens.
My daughter stays at 180 and she is terrified to walk home now. Why would they take away the safest option?
Ridiculous decision. Walking that stretch alone after dark is an accident waiting to happen. Put the stop back already.
BRING IT BACK. I pay enough in tuition to at least feel safe getting from the bus to my front door.
