The undersigned individual wish to object to the dismissal of Sara Cobb from the Chicago Animal Care & Control Cat Transfer Team. Sara Cobb’s position was one of a volunteer for which she received no compensation. During these times of fiscal adversity facilities should be embracing, not dismissing volunteers.

The mission statement of Chicago Animal Care and Control reads in part to;
“ensure(s) the humane care of animals through sheltering, pet placement, education”.

The CACC Transfer Team was set up to help network animals, namely cats, that are not on the adoption floor at Chicago Animal Care and Control due to lack of space. It is the intention of the Cat Transfer Team and Sara Cobb to help increase live outcomes for the animals at CACC and her dismissal is contrary to the facilities mission.

It is for these reasons the undersigned request Sara Cobb is reinstated to her position.
