The management has reversed their decision and Sara Cobb is returning to the Cat Transfer Team. This outcome confirms that dedicated volunteers are essential to the mission of our local shelters. We will continue to monitor the program to ensure that the focus remains on positive outcomes for the animals.

The mission statement of Chicago Animal Care and Control reads in part to;
“ensure(s) the humane care of animals through sheltering, pet placement, education”.
The CACC Transfer Team was set up to help network animals, namely cats, that are not on the adoption floor at Chicago Animal Care and Control due to lack of space. It is the intention of the Cat Transfer Team and Sara Cobb to help increase live outcomes for the animals at CACC and her dismissal is contrary to the facilities mission.
It is for these reasons the undersigned request Sara Cobb is reinstated to her position.

She helped us rescue a sweet kitty named stasche. She's valuable to the rescue community. Please reconsider.
Sara has been nothing but helpful in my experience working with her at CACC. Maybe you don't agree on everything but keeping on volunteers with a variety if view points makes for a healthier organization. Thank you.
Sara helped me rescue two of my neighbor's cats. She has a wonderfully positive attitude. It's critical that she be allowed to continue her work at CACC.
Volunteers are the glue that keep rescue organizations together. To let someone go because they exercised their First Amendment right in favor of the kitties, I'm sure. Please reconsider adding Sara Cobb back to the team. Volunteers who do the work that the CACC Transfer Team are very hard to come by.
How can you dismiss a dedicated volunteer when you are so overcrowded and understaffed? How does that further your mission? Please reinstate Sara!

Sara brought my Shadow to the attention of CACC Cat Transfer Team back in March of this year. He had 3 strikes: black, 12 years old, and very sick. Because she went the extra mile this sweet baby is now a healthy, happy member of my family instead of another dead, discarded cat:.
