Peter Schubart has brought the music ministry to St. Martins for decades. He is well loved and respected for his talent. It is shocking to hear that he has been removed. Music is prayer. Mr. Schubart brings talent and inspiration to the Mass. If Heaven's angels sing God's praises, then so should we. Please reinstate Mr. Schubart as music director. With a degree from Juliard School of Music, and a life-time member of this parish, St. Martin's could not ask for a better qualified music director.

I do have faith that we'll soon again be seeing and hearing the results of Peter Schubart's remarkable work at St. Martin's. His work and inspiration is what I think of when St. Martin's comes to mind..

Just to be clear. Covid was not offered as a reason for the elimination of Mr. Schubart’s position.

The Music Ministry at St Martin’s is the finest on Long Island under Mr. Schubert’s direction. Please reinstate. The vaccines are coming. Churches will be filled with singing again.

Peter and his music ministry is a major contributor to the attendance at major Holy Day services as well as the overall ministry of the church.

Peter is a blessing. This is a most difficult year for all who work in music. Please bring Peter back.

The dedication of Peter and his family, the choir and musicians, and the touching and sacred beauty of the music all work to bring the already Holy Liturgy to a new dimension. So many people travel distances to St Martins to experience this magnificent Liturgical adoration and Communion of our Lord. Please help us recapture this...as we pray in unison for resolution and reinstatement. Thank you!

Mr. Schubart is one of the most dedicated and gifted musicians I have had the pleasure of knowing. St. Martin's should give him a lifetime contract!!!

Singing brings us all a little closer to God and helps relieve stress. The church should recognize this, shame on them for adding to everyone's stress in this time of need.

The music Peter has brought to the church is what has continued to both keep and bring people to the church. It is what sets St. Martin of Tours apart from other Catholic churches.

A true talent who was the heart of St. Martin’s celebrations. And a great guy too. Was a pleasure to work with. He lent his talents every year to help Outreach at our annual Lessons & Carols fundraiser. I will never forget the music of my farewell Mass. Good luck! Merry Christmas.

We are beyond saddened. People traveled to attend mass at St Martins because the Schubart family and the genius of Peter added so much to the liturgy, and to prayer.

Peter has brought so much joy and consolation to the parish of St. Martin of Tours while building the finest music program in the diocese. The extraordinary music has become part of the identity of the parish. One pastor’s lack of appreciation for what he has built over 30 years should not result in him losing his job and benefits in the midst of a pandemic. It is not right and it is frankly not Christian.
