Southern Vance would not be the same place without Mrs. Wiggins. A simple mistake like this should not damage her reputation as an incredible teacher and person.

Mrs. Wiggins was my teacher c/o 92. And I must say she was the best history teacher. Her level of professionalism was outstanding and always respected bet students as well as her fellow staff members. While I don't agree with using foul language in the classroom setting, when you compare that to her level of teaching and years of academic excellence this punishment is a little extreme. I think she should be reinstated immediately and another form of discipline should be enforced.

Shame on you Vance County Schools! Instead of suspending such an awesome and dedicated teacher for an insignificant word such as "ass" try suspending those teachers that do not return phone calls or don't even care to show up to work. How about the SVHS administrators who allowed an AP class to be without a teacher for over nine weeks. (Yes my daughter was in that class last year). I demand that you reinstate Mrs. Wiggins! That is the least that you can do to right all of the many wrongs you have done to the Vance county kids.

How are they going to suspend her for that when 2 Southern Vance teachers was talking to the whole softball team about suckling weiner and doing it doggie style. When we called the board they just had the AD call and apologize to the parents for it

I remember there being curse words in the AP US History textbook that Mrs. Wiggins would specifically let me read aloud to the class. Good luck!

If a student (or parent) is offended by this usage of the word "ass," then these people need to finish their withdrawal from the real world and finish building their crazy-people compound. This language is NOT excessive. You can easily hear worse on network television between the hours of 6-10.
Sandra Wiggins is the kind of teacher who is more than an educator, she is a LEADER. She INSPIRES people to want to learn for the sake of learning. Part of that comes from the fact that she is REAL, HONEST, AND SINCERE. Punishing these qualities is precisely why Vance County remains one of the lowest performing school systems in both the state AND the country!
This suspension is an embarrassment to the faculty, staff, students, and citizenry of Vance County.
The Superintended should get his head out of HIS ASS. and do the right thing!
