As most parents have probably heard, Mr. Shahbaz has been removed as principal. This is truly shocking and disappointing. Mr. Shahbaz was new this school year, but this is concerning to me. There have been too many changes in administration at the JH/HS the last couple years. My children have told me that Mr. Shahbaz was welcoming, concerned and attentive. He took action and immediately shut down a bullying situation that we brought to him. Immediately. He had great ideas for changes involving lessening the book load for students, since lockers aren’t an option at TC. He also started the policy where students aren’t allowed phones in class. Mr. Shahbaz brought compassion and enthusiasm to his position. He demonstrated humility and self-sacrificing character.

I believe that we parents deserve an opportunity to have a voice and to be informed of changes this big. There’s no forum for discussion in these changes that affect our children. There’s favoritism to certain families, and there are students who feel entitled to different treatment where rules and dress code are concerned. This is more than just reinstating this new but already beloved administrator… this is a petition for change. Parents need a voice in TC
