Miguel has always been welcoming and helpful. Once he starting stringing having someone greet you as you walk in was a nice addition. Most employees at op rarely smile and often seem tired, overworked and unhappy. Miguel wasn’t trained, as things escalated doubtful he was given goals and markers for success. OP management should reconsider and give all employees proper training. Perhaps he could be added back to grounds /stringing downstairs with goals and timeline to transition back to his position.

OP Team,
I have a problem with this type of thing, second guessing a management decision on hiring and firing. I've been through this several times as a Board Member and past President of OP. I hope and think there are better ways to go about this. If Michael was fired unjustly and without proper cause and documentation he should in writing file a complaint and ask for written documentation. I'll help fund a lawyer to review to see if he has a case. Michael has been one of the few employees to take initiative to connect with members and go beyond his job to make OP better.
I am signing because I think Michael has been an excellent OP employee, in my experience.

Miguel has never been anything but helpful and always incredibly nice. Training, coaching, mentoring is part of management that seems to be missing here.

Miguel is OP family. He was always so eager to help in anyway. He loved talking about tennis racquets and help me find the two I use today - which I bought through the club.

I am hoping this decision can be reconsidered and OP Management will help Mike in a positive way moving forward. He is a much valued employee/friend at OP.

I truly believe that OP was Mike’s 2nd home. He always went above and beyond what was required and/or expected to help his members. He has always been a loyal employee and deserves another chance!

Years ago we let a new club manager's agenda force Peter Ayers to leave OPRC. When the club tried to fix the mistake and rehire him, it was too late. Let's not make the same mistake and let a new employee be a part of pushing out such a beloved and loyal employee. Mike wants to do better and be better. I don't know what kind of coaching was done for Mike. But Club leadership's responsibility was to help mediate the situation for an outcome that did not include losing such a valuable employee.

Michael always goes above and beyond - with a smile on his face! I am hoping those making these decisions understand that the voices of all the people who love Michael now need to be considered as carefully as the few that may have complaints.

Just heard this news. Would respectfully ask this be reconsidered as Miguel has been a positive aspect of the club from my prospective.

I echo pretty much all the other comments from everyone else. I have never known Miguel to be anything but hard working, nice pleasant and knowledgeable about his trade.
Really need to think twice about this.

This was quite unfortunate. Miquel was certainly one of the most friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable employees we had at OPRC. Hope there is some way things can be mended and he can be brought back!

Miguel is often the first employee we see when entering the club and he reflects a very positive image of OP. He cheerfully greets people, is very knowledgeable about racquets and other products in the pro shop, and he is willing to help out at the club in many capacities. After 19 years of dedicated service, OP won't be the same without him. Please bring Miguel back.
