Don't rob this individual of doing the job he has dreamed of doing. The mistake is on the accuser. Why is he being punished for something he did not do? I fail to understand this type of logic.

If an investigation was done and proved no wrongdoing, it is wrong to punish anyone on an accusation. He should be reinstated with a public apology. This is WRONG PERIOD.
