We are a group of skaters and parents at the KWSC. We are deeply disturbed by the decision of the club to not renew the contract of base coach Lorri Baier.

1. Lorri has done an excellent job as a skate coach and she has our full support.
2. The decision to not renew Lorri's contract is hugely disruptive to skaters and parents, especially to skaters who are unable to move with Lorri to another club due to transportation or other logistics reasons, and to skaters who have competition in the near future e.g. the Adult National competition in two weeks.
3. The decision to not renew Lorri's contract was made without any consultation of the customers who are served by the club and who directly pay for Lorri's services.
4. We believe the decision to not renew Lorri's contract is not in the best interest of skaters at KWSC.

We have the following demands:

1. That KWSC provides necessary ice time to Lorri in the spring term to continue providing coaching to any students who needs her instructions, in order to ensure a smooth transition.
2. That KWSC ensures that any future personnel decision includes the opinions of parents and skaters, for example in the form of a coach evaluation done on a regular basis.
3. That KWSC ensures that in the future if any coach is not offered a contract renewal, adequate notice and necessary arrangements be provided to ensure minimal disruptions to parents and skaters.
